The wetland lies on the edge of Leswalt village, adjacent to Aldouran Glen Woodland and bounded by the Aldouran Burn.

Although artificially assisted, it has now naturalised and sustains a wide variety of plant, bird and insect life.

There is a sizeable bird hide situated between the wetland and the woodland which provides an ideal place for bird watching.

The hide is accessible to all abilities by a boardwalk which links the Community Garden to the woodland and incorporates a pond dipping platform.
